How did you start the first time in the import export business?
I studied international business at college. After graduation, I found a factory that exported extension socket. And then, I attended some shows and fair to promote our products.
After show, I sent email to contact with all the visited customers at all the show and fairs. We discussed products price, certificate , package, samples delivery time, and mass order delivery time by emails.
After a long time communication, three customers asked and paid for samples. And then, We made and send samples for customer testing. Customers got samples and did the test. After that, I waited and follow it. 3 weeks later, one customer told me samples were tested good and want to order 3000pcs. And then we discussed and confirmed payment terms of 30% deposit and 70% before shipment.
One week later, customer paid 30% deposit and set payment slip to me. I checked and confirmed it with our accountant that deposit was received. I was very excited for this first order.
After that, we produce and test 3000pcs to ensure every one was good. After testing is finished, I emailed customer to ask for 70% payment. Customer paid it soon after. And then we booked shipment to deliver it.
The customers got it after 30 days and very satisfied with our products. 6 months later, he issued a repeated order of 50000pcs. That was my first export experience and was great!
